Look Back at WrestleMania: WrestleMania 9

So after a bizarre finish to WrestleMania 8 with Hulk Hogan, we come to the infamous WrestleMania 9..

Venue: Caesar’s Palace

Attendance:  16,891

I’d first off time to say that I love the entrance stage here, and I love the whole Roman theme, but they may have gone too far having the announcers enter on camels in Roman king attire.

Shawn Michaels vs Tatanka for the WWF Intercontinental Championship

Here we are again seeing Shawn Michaels in the opening match of WrestleMania. This one was very similar in the fact that they were both solid matches to get the crowd hot for the rest of the card. The finish was a little stupid though.. Shawn Michaels whipped the referee outside of the ring. As he got back in, Tatanka hit a back body drop and went for the pin, but the referee disqualified Shawn Michaels. Tatanka won the match, but didn’t win the championship gold.

Money Inc. (Ted DiBiase and IRS) vs The Mega-Maniacs (Hulk Hogan and Brutus Beefcake) for the WWF Tag Team Championships

Hulk Hogan matches are boring me to death, oh my god! I hated this match! This went on for way too long. Brutus Beefcake looked like such an idiot with his mask and stupid tights! The ending was just stupid as well. Money Inc won this match by disqualification, but of course we still saw Hulk Hogan celebrating for 10 minutes after the match he just lost, and his theme song just on repeat! They opened up IRS’ briefcase and found money.. What a surprise! Not in a good mood after this match!

Yokozuna vs Bret Hart for the WWF Championship

I’m just going to skip right to the end on this one.. Bret Hart struggled to lock in the Sharpshooter because of Yokozuna’s massive legs! Mr Fuji standing at ringside then threw powder in the eyes of The Hitman, blinding him, and allowing Yokozuna to pick up the pinfall victory for the title. Within seconds however, Hulk Hogan pops up out of no where. Mr Fuji then challenged Hogan for a title match right at that moment. Bret Hart just allowed for this to happen and didn’t even try and get a rematch of any sort. Hulk Hogan then got the victory over Yokozuna in just over 20 seconds.

This was on of the worst WrestleMania’s ever! It started off pretty well, but it just continued downhill from there! This is probably one of my worst blog posts, as it’s one sided but it was awful. Hopefully WrestleMania 10 will be a bit more enjoyable tomorrow!
