This Week in Wrestling – 2

If you didn’t know, I’m hoping this will be the start of a long series I will be doing every monday, looking at the past week in wrestling. Last week’s post can be found here.

Raw

Again, we saw a very good Raw this week. It probably wasn’t as good as last week’s, but still one of the most entertaining of the year. The Bray Wyatt promo was a spectacle. I loved seeing the thunder and fire around the arena! I’ve never been a massive fan of Bray Wyatt, but he’s been a lot better since Hell in a Cell. It was good to see The Miz again (not sure why I like him so much..), but he got swung by Cesaro so many times!

Paige becoming number 1 contender did not surprise me. I don’t want to see her win the championship just yet, but I think it’ll just be a hold over feud for Charlotte before Sasha Banks goes for the championship. It was pretty good to see a Survivor Series match on Raw. I’m not too sure that we’ll actually see a Survivor Series match though.. The Wyatts vs The Brothers of Destruction is looking like it’ll be a handicap match to me.. Oh, and The New Day rocking out to Seth Rollins’ theme song was the best thing all week.

SmackDown

I don’t really watch SmackDown that often, mainly because not a lot actually happens. Kevin Owens’ lying was a great heel move – the guy is just awesome! Natalya getting a win over Tamina was good. I need to see more of her on Raw though! Swagger vs Del Rio sure looks like it’ll be a thing now – I do not want to see that! But not that good of a SmackDown really..

NXT

Now time for the best show of the week, every week! The main event was actually very strong! Both men going for it, and they both upped each other every time they made a move. Corbin coming out was good to see (even though he seems like an asshole), but Samoa Joe is one of the greatest heels in wrestling over the past 10 years or so. The Eva Marie match was just horrible. But Asuka and Cameron did a good job! NXT is perfect for Cameron to get herself back on track, and back to the main roster.

The Big Injury

As we all know, Seth Rollins will be out for 6 – 9 months, and will miss WrestleMania 32. This pains my heart to write! The guy has been the best talent in the ring since he broke out of the Shield last year, but he was held back by the booking team. His interview with WWE.com was good though. He said that whoever wins the Championship at Survivor Series will just be holding it until he returns.

Survivor Series Tournament

I’m not too sure what will actually be happening in this. I’m sure we’ll see something from Raw tonight about it. In my eyes though, all signs point towards Reigns winning the title. Meh.

Podcasts

Steve Austin had another great podcast with Buff Bagwell, but apart from that, it’s been pretty quiet on iTunes! If you haven’t listened to them yet though, you guys need to check out Ring Rust Radio! What a podcast! They are killing it every single week, for more than 4 hours!

Thanks for reading guys! Let me know your thoughts on this piece and let me know what you’d like to see included in next week’s blog post!
