First off, I’d like to apologise for the poor show on my blog. As some of you may know, my laptop was stolen about a month ago now. This means that I can’t actually do many blog posts, as I’m not too comfortable with the editing on the mobile app for Word Press. I will be buying a new laptop in about a month’s time, due to lack of money. I will be doing some blog posts, including my predictions to WrestleMania, and my review of the big night, but I still won’t be back to my normal upload schedule. I would like to ask you guys if you want me to continue my WrestleMania look back, even after WM 30? Let me know on twitter! @ImThatWWEGuy.
I thought I’d just do a short blog post on my thoughts of the build up to WrestleMania.
Cesaro and Tyson Kidd vs The New Day vs The Usos vs Los Matadores
The build up to this has been pretty awful in my eyes. It seems that they have pretty much run out of tag team feud ideas, and so just put all of the active tag teams into one match. This to me seems pretty boring, and so it deserves the pre-show slot. I’m also surprised that they have included Los Matadores, and not The Ascension. I would’ve like to of seen a young tag team, with a half decent gimmick.
I saw something on twitter I think, and a guy came up with a pretty cool idea for the tag team scene after WrestleMania. He said that they should vacate the titles, and make a massive tournament building up to SummerSlam, where there would be a match for the titles. It would be cool to see some tag teams put together randomly. Kidd and Cesaro were put together randomly, but everyone loves them now. I’d personally like to see Bray Wyatt and Bo Dallas become a tag team, seeing as they’re real life brothers.
AJ Lee and Paige vs The Bella Twins
I’d like to see this as a fatal 4 way for the Divas title. It would be interesting to see it that way, as it means that Brie came come out of Nikki’s shell a little bit more. The build up has been fairly decent with this one I must say. As I’ve said before, I don’t watch too much of the divas, but from what I’ve seen with this storyline, it’s been alright.
It’s a shame that there is only one storyline with the divas. They have many talented in-ring performers, so why not use them on a 3 hour-long episode of Raw for a little longer? But I am glad that they haven’t got a silly gimmick battle royale at WrestleMania! Damn they’re bad!
Andre the Giant Battle Royale
This one does not excite me in the slightest. It’s been a very gimmicky build up to it, with Axel leading it. I think they will develop the Mizdow story at WrestleMania, which I’d like to see as their relationship is slowly deteriorating, as it has done for the past 2 months! They try to big this match up, and say that the winner goes onto future success, but Cesaro has just become one half of the tag team champions, and so it doesn’t really springboard your career greatly.
Intercontinental Championship Ladder Match
The match on paper could steal the show, but the build up has been pretty pathetic. It just seems very childish with the hot potato of the title belt. I also can’t help but feel that this would be better as a 5 way ladder match, excluding Stardust and R Truth. They both just kind of popped up from nowhere, and have been included. The WWE may not get a better rated match, as the multiple competitors could over complicate things.
IT also frustrates me that we are not seeing Goldust vs Stardust! What happened to that feud?! Are they a tag team now? Will Goldust just retire after WrestleMania? Will Stardust revert back to Cody Rhodes? So many questions, that will be left unanswered.
Rusev vs John Cena
Bleacher Report did a very good build up to this match, suggesting that the WWE should let Rusev get another one over on John Cena, just to shock everyone. I’d quite enjoy this, because we are all expecting a win for Cena in this one. With Mark Henry returning, they could have the big guys go all out at Extreme Rules for the title, and let Henry have one last reign as a champion maybe? I’m not a fan of the story of patriotism. It’s what hooked me to the rivalry before, as there was no reference to Russia and America. I still find it funny seeing Rusev’s Bulgaria tattoo on his shoulder.
The Undertaker vs Bray Wyatt
Wyatt has made the build as best as it could be, but it is very limited without The Undertaker featuring too greatly. I hope he’s in good shape when it comes to the night, it will be disappointing to see him leave looking very weak, seeing as his whole career was built on him being very dominant. Bray has done brilliant with his promos building up to this one, but the return of The Undertaker is a great build up in itself. I must say though, with the streak over, it doesn’t feel as good as it could be. I’m still annoyed that he actually lost at WrestleMania last year!
Sting vs Triple H
Wow, just wow. They have done so well with the build up to this one. The surprising, and rare appearances from Sting have made him look very powerful over Triple H. I’m just still so amazed that Sting is actually in the WWE now! They should’ve put a twist on this, where if Sting won, The Authority would be over, cause the storyline is getting awfully boring now!
I do want to mention that I will absolutely flip if we don’t see The Undertaker vs Sting at WrestleMania 32. Every since both debuted in the WWE and WCW, every wrestling fan has wanted to see it!Now that they are finally working together, we have to see a retirement match for them both. Man, that would be amazing! But knowing the WWE, they’d probably have the match at TLC, or not at all!
Seth Rollins vs Randy Orton
This one has a good build up to it as well! It started very badly with Orton siding with Rollins straight after Fast Lane, but it’s progressed since then, and many people have forgotten about it. Randy Orton has turned back into the vicious babyface which is a very good gimmick for him to play with. They have shown Seth to be being very clever in the build up too, with The Authority ‘turning’ on him. This seems like it’s the teacher vs student type match, where we should expect the student to overcome the old guard.
Brock Lesnar vs Roman Reigns
They’ve tried all they can to hype this one up, but it’s not doing it for me! The ‘rivalry’ is very forced after the Royal Rumble, and the lack of action in it, has not made it exciting for me at all. At the end of the day, there’s only so much that Paul Heyman can do. I’m not a fan of Brock, so I’d like to see him leave the WWE, or join full-time. But it’s just scary to see how much control he has over the WWE. I did enjoy Paul Heyman talk about his potential return to UFC though. Do not be surprised to see a twist with Seth Rollins after this one.
The build up to WrestleMania only really picked up with Raw from Monday, but I am pretty excited for it now! Remember to follow me on twitter @ImThatWWEGuy. I’ve been on there loads lately due to the lack of activity on here. I will manage to get out my WrestleMania predictions out as well before the big night. Once again, sorry for the poor uploads here, but it will pick up very soon!
